Pupil Lateness

The school day starts at 8.55am. Some children arrive in school after this time, this can be disruptive to the whole class and distressing for your child - please try to ensure that yur child/ren get to school on time . Our Education Welfare Officer checks our late register every Wednesday. Even if your child is a few minutes late this lateness is recorded on the electronic register. The Welfare Officer writes to parents of pupils who are consistently late or absent. Attendance records are a vital part of your child’s academic record; it is therefore essential to ensure that your child gets to school on time.
Pupil Absence

If your child is absent for any reason, please telephone the school office in the morning and send a letter on your child’s return to school.
Holidays
We strongly discourage holidays in term time. It can be hard for your child to make up the work they have missed and to re-establish themselves in their friendships groups. However, if this is unavoidable you must request in writing permission from the Headteacher, by completing a holiday form, even for one day. Any absence, except for illness, in excess of ten days will be recorded as unauthorized absence.
PLEASE REFER TO RAISING ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH REDUCING ABSENCE POLICY (In Admissions booklet)
